ISCKON, a non-profit organization, has been providing healthy and nutritious vegetarian meals to people under its ‘Food For Life ‘Program since its founding in 1970. It has also been the most extensive vegetarian food distribution program to people in need in the most challenging and hazardous places in the world, whether it is devotees coming to the temple, regions devastated by natural disasters, or war-affected countries.
“The Krishna Consciousness program is based on the principle of chanting Hare Krishna and dispensing Prasadam,” explains Srila Prabhupada. Why should we be misers if we think that Krishna is supporting and providing for everyone? We have faith that Krishna will provide! How does ISKCON Wave City Temple distribute food?
We generally try to feed everyone under 10KM of range. We also organize mobile food drives to reach those who may not have access to our regular distribution points.
